+ captures the original design perfectly
- castoff is a bit difficult, leaves some paint marks
- could sit a little better
Overall: An annoying flaw but otherwise a a brilliant figure – highly recommended
I’ve finally noticed that I can’t point this camera too close or it loses focus
Hopefully I’ll do a proper review of these down the line.
Gurren Lagann Calendar – only 6 images kinda disappointing but it was fairly cheap , Nichijou vol 2,3 – some recycled jokes (mio and her yaoi drawings) but the execution of the gags are top notch.

Akiba Days (kransom did a review of it a while back) -suprisingly enjoyed this purchase the most – this is despite the fact my Japanese is very limited (that’s being very kind) and the fact that I don’t forsee myself going to Akihabara any time soon. I do enjoy knowing things that are of no particular use to me so that’s probably it (like where all the public toilets are and where the smoking rest stops are). It also did make me wonder whether the manga @Home is based on the maid cafe of the same name found in the book.

Just got back from Sydney today (hence the lack of updates) so I haven’t had a chance to really look through/play the stuff – expect comments at a later point.

Also bought a few things while in Sydney.
Outliers is probably the weakest of Gladwell’s books that said it’s still worth a read though I’d suggest reading Tipping Point first. Haven’t finished reading @Home yet but it seems pretty cute. Real is excellent. Eva 1.0 is pretty and I’m looking forward to the next movie - be nice if Gainax could churn out the movies quicker ala UFOtable.
Produced by Trump of Team Shuffle and published by Angry Viking Press, Babes of the Beach is an artbook in comic book form. It features 26 pages of original color art from 19 artists most notably Bosshi, COSiNE, Ez6, TRUMP! and St.germain-sal (Shinnihon Pepsitou). The aforementioned artists alone are worth the $US4.50 admission. The rest of the art is a bit of a mixed bag with some really good stuff (ek’s drawing kinda felt out of place but I really liked it anyway) to pretty average and about 5 pages of furry of which I didn’t really care for. Another nit pick is that paper quality is rather crappy (this becomes really obvious when you scan it) but considering the price it’s to be expected.

Couple of 2nd hand books and the yukiyanagi and Inazuma books are new. The Yo-shu Ohepe book is really good, pity the cover is a bit creased.
